According to Schreier, the problem isn’t that the PS5 is outdated. The real issue is that the current generation still hasn’t delivered that one massive “this is why you upgraded” moment for most players. And Schreier thinks GTA VI is the game that will finally change that.

He argues that GTA VI, along with major upcoming titles like Wolverine, Intergalactic, and the next game from Santa Monica Studio, will likely become the true lineup that proves what the PS5 is capable of.

Until now, Schreier suggests, the PS5 has mostly been running on safe releases, cross-gen projects, and upgrades rather than true next-gen experiences that fully justify leaving PS4 behind.

If he’s right, GTA VI won’t just be the biggest game of the decade - it might be the title that finally makes the PS5 era feel real.
