Recently, we published a news article about the Uruguayan gaming platform revealing the real release date of the new GTA part.
On January 29, 2025, a page for GTA 6 appeared on the Uruguayan gaming platform, listing the release date as September 17, 2025. Users quickly started spreading this information, and by January 31, it was removed from the website.
Then, on the morning of February 1, the platform's administrators realized the stir their mistake had caused and posted a statement apologizing for the confusion.
"As all fans, we are very excited and eagerly awaiting the release of GTA VI. We took the GTA V page as a model for the GTA 6 page, which was published with the date of September 17, 2025.
We did not intend to cause any confusion and want to clarify that we did not receive any official information about the release date of the game from any of the brands.
On behalf of the entire XUruguay team, we apologize if we caused any excitement among players or misled anyone with the incorrect release date of GTA VI, which was simply a mistake. We know it's the wrong date, as releases typically happen on Tuesdays or Fridays, and this date falls on a Wednesday."
Although this news turned out to be false, many fans still believe that GTA 6 could be released on September 17, as this date is very symbolic for Rockstar Games.
