It looks like GTA VI might not only change the gaming world with its scale but also with its price tag. According to analyst Michael Pachter, Rockstar Games and Take-Two are preparing to set a new standard for game pricing, making GTA VI the most expensive video game ever released.
Pachter believes the company will try to balance things out by giving players special bonuses for GTA VI Online, possibly in the form of in-game currency or exclusive content to make the purchase feel more rewarding.
"They’re getting ready to sell the game at a record-breaking price, and they might encourage players to spend more by offering big Online bonuses."
Many in the industry think this could mark a turning point for gaming as a whole, where future releases might start following the same pricing model.
Still, most fans agree — Rockstar Games probably won’t risk too much negativity, especially with how long everyone’s been waiting for this game and how high expectations already are.
