The Wait for GTA VI Trailer 3 Might Be Longer Than You Think

Everyone is refreshing their feeds waiting for GTA VI Trailer 3, but one of the most trusted names in gaming insider news is throwing cold water on the idea of an early drop.

Tom Henderson, Editor-in-Chief of Insider Gaming, is standing firm on his prediction: don't expect the next GTA VI trailer until deep into summer — and by summer, he means August.

Why August?

This strategy is nothing new for Rockstar. Trailer 2 dropped in May 2025 — right ahead of a Take-Two investor briefing — and generated over 150 million views almost instantly.

What About the May Earnings Call?

Many fans are pinning their hopes on a trailer reveal in mid-May, ahead of Take-Two's Q4 2026 earnings call. If Rockstar were to reveal a third trailer mid-May, it would definitely get players hyped for the official marketing campaign to kick off over the summer. Screen Rant

But Henderson isn't buying it. He's still sticking to his position that Rockstar won't release the next trailer until actual summer — meaning July or August, literally a day before their next earnings call.

Gamers on Reddit are completely split when it comes to a stealth release of Trailer 3, with many players arguing that three months of marketing would be insufficient for a game as massive as GTA VI.

That said, Henderson has a point about one thing: GTA VI has been hyped so much that Rockstar has the liberty to orchestrate the marketing campaign however they want — the hype won't die down even if trailers drop close to release.
