A new discussion has emerged around GTA VI Online, with some suggesting Rockstar may push the online mode closer to RPG territory.
Industry veteran and producer Rich Vogel claimed that based on what he has heard, GTA VI Online could include mechanics similar to MMORPGs - or at least contain enough features to evolve into something close to that over time.
"I think there’s a huge audience waiting for the perfect MMORPG. If what I’ve heard about GTA VI gameplay and what it offers is true, it could evolve into an MMORPG, because many of the planned features fit that kind of game"
Some fans believe Rockstar has been slowly testing these ideas in GTA Online. For example, a recent update introduced a gym feature inside mansions, allowing players to improve certain character stats.
Rockstar has also been leaning more into roleplay-style content, adding jobs with deeper mechanics and interactive activities that feel less like simple missions and more like a long-term progression system.
Of course, Vogel’s statement is not an official leak or confirmation. It’s more of an industry-based opinion mixed with rumors, so it should be treated carefully.
But the idea of GTA VI Online evolving into something more RPG-like is definitely not as crazy as it sounds.
