A new discovery in GTA VI screenshots has sparked massive discussion among fans. Players noticed something unusual — a license plate featuring the name “Gloriana.”
At first glance, it might not seem important, but this tiny detail could hide something big. Many believe Gloriana represents a neighboring state, possibly inspired by Georgia, which in real life borders Florida — the real-world counterpart of Leonida.
A Hidden Connection?
This isn’t the first time Rockstar has teased multiple maps within one game. In Red Dead Redemption 2, players unexpectedly visited Guarma, a fully developed tropical island that existed as a second, secret map.
And in previous titles, Rockstar has used the same trick — GTA: San Andreas included Liberty City, GTA V had North Yankton, and GTA Online introduced Cayo Perico, accessible through map switching even in online sessions.
These patterns make fans believe that Rockstar may be preparing something similar for GTA VI — a second playable area or a hidden story chapter outside Leonida.
Liberty City in the world of GTA VI
Many theories now point toward Liberty City making a comeback in GTA VI. According to past reports, Rockstar had already rebuilt Liberty City for a GTA V story DLC that was later canceled — and some of those assets may have found a new home in GTA VI.
The appearance of cruise ships, out-of-state vehicles, and tourists in the latest screenshots only fuels speculation that players might travel beyond Leonida at some point in the story.
Old Ideas, New Life
Rockstar often revisits ideas that never made it into their previous games. One of GTA VI’s heist scenes is rumored to be adapted from a canceled GTA V mission involving a getaway car chained to a moving safe — a concept fans thought they’d never see again.
If this approach continues, GTA VI could become the studio’s most ambitious game to date — a project that brings together the best ideas from Rockstar’s entire history.
Even if Gloriana or Liberty City aren’t part of the main game at launch, there’s a real chance they’ll appear later in story DLCs or expansions.
Whatever happens, one thing is clear — Rockstar hasn’t shown us everything yet, and GTA VI still has plenty of surprises waiting.
