A former Call of Duty multiplayer creative director believes the entire gaming industry is basically holding its breath because of GTA VI.
In an interview with EsportsBets, Greg Reisdorf said that $100 games are inevitable, but publishers are afraid to be the first to make the move:
"Nobody wants to be first. Everyone is waiting."
He also pointed out that GTA VI could seriously reshape the multiplayer market. According to him, titles like Warzone and other live-service shooters may face real competition once Rockstar launches GTA VI with a new online experience.
If Rockstar delivers something massive on the multiplayer side, it could easily pull millions of players away from current service games - and publishers clearly know it.
